    About the Diamond Layout

Diamond is built from short rows that widen to the middle and taper off again, with smaller diamonds stacked on top. It has 136 tiles over four layers.

Short rows mean lots of open ends, so you have more free tiles than on nearly any other board. It's the most forgiving of the larger layouts, and a good next step once you've beaten Little Temple and Garden.

    Diamond Mahjong Solitaire FAQ

    What's the easiest full-size layout?

Diamond. At Medium, a random player wins more often on it than on any other board with more than 100 tiles.

Why are there more free tiles on Diamond?

Its rows are short and each row's width changes from one to the next, which leaves many tile ends open from the start.
